On your marks, get set, bon appétit! The race to get the best beer battered fish and chips in Nottingham took place on Sunday 22nd March as thousands of spectators flocked to watch Varsity Triathlon at the University of Nottingham.
The Varsity Triathlon consists of a 400m swim at the University’s swimming pool, a hilly 15 km closed-road cycle on traffic-free roads, followed by a 5km run throughout the Downs and around the Highfields Park Lake.
The Triathlon was set up to raise money to use the University’s Nobel prize-wining expertise in MRI scanning to conduct world-leading research in dementia. Did you know that some 800,000 people in the UK alone have dementia, according to one estimate and one in three of us has a family member or close friend who is affected? So a great cause that The Orange Food Box Company is proud to have been involved in. It was an exciting day and we certainly fed a good number of hungry race enthusiasts.
