Our stomachs are rumbling this week as the Nottinghamshire Food and Drink Awards’ shortlist is revealed. Some 1400 plus nominations arrived with judges of the Nottingham Post’s prestigious Food and Drink Awards. Two sets of mystery judges will visit each venue over the coming weeks and score them from a list of strict criteria and marks will be awarded for welcome, selection of drinks, food presentation, flavour and quality and service and ambiance. The category of best young chef will be decided by a cook-off at West Notts College in Mansfield on 26th May.
Over in Derbyshire, the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair will welcome Great British Bake Off winner, Frances Quinn. She’ll be doing cookery demonstrations, making it apparent exactly why she won the hearts of some 9.1 million viewers, winning the popular BBC2 programme in 2013. The Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair takes place over the 16-17 May at Kedleston Hall, Derbyshire.
