Well that’s what the Derbyshire Telegraph reports that the National Farmers Union (NFU) is telling us. “Make your vote count for British food” is one of the NFU’s messages and as we head to the polls, we should be thinking about what we want from a new government and how they will affect the country’s producers and farmers.
As well as the NHS, schools, tax and man other issues, the NFU reminds us that we could consider how we vote in relation to great British food. Farming is vital to us all and we all need to eat, but it is essential that the case is made for the many benefits the industry brings to the economy and the nation as a whole. British farmers and growers produce most of the raw ingredients for the country’s £97 billion food and drink industry and that includes for The Orange Food Box Company.
The Orange Food Box Company is certainly behind local, Derbyshire producers and farmers and we source ingredients locally whenever we can. The quality beef that goes into our flame-grilled burgers and the pork that makes our scrumptious sausages is all from a fantastic Derbyshire butcher.
