Derbyshire is teeming with beautiful wedding venues. Throughout the Derbyshire Dales, Peak District and the towns and villages surrounding Derby, historic buildings, grand houses and stone buildings provide ideal settings for memorable weddings. And now it’s Derby’s turn!
Dotted alongside the banks of the River Derwent, from Matlock, right up to Derby city centre remain a series of old mills, where the industrialists of their era brought about the industrial revolution. Darley Abby Mills are deemed so important that they carry a World Heritage Site status and are home to a multitude of businesses, including a restaurant, all of which are drawn by the picturesque river setting and stone and brick architecture.
Well now, Darley Abbey Mills, mill owner, Patterns Properties, has recently invested £2.5 million in restoring the grande one listed building and restored and converted the building’s West Mill into a beautiful wedding venue overlooking the river. Wedding ceremonies will be conducted on the top 4 floors, with a reception floor and an art gallery on the bottom floor. SO popular is the venue proving that its booked right through to 2017 already. We wish Darley Abbey Mills the very best of luck.
