If you’re like us and have a real passion for quality Derbyshire produce, then you’ll have been disappointed when it was announced just after Christmas that the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair was to be axed. However, great news comes courtesy of the Derby Telegraph! A family business has announced that it will be hosting the event itself within the grounds of Derbyshire’s spectacular Kedleston Hall on June 6 and 7.
The show had previously been running for 12 years at Derby’s Elvaston Castle, showcasing superb food and drink from around the locality, and although Derbyshire County Council confirmed to the Derby Telegraph that they recognise the vital role the county’s food and drink industry plays in the economy, they cancelled the event nonetheless. However, they do support any initiative that supports the industry and welcome Derby-based Jaguar Fairs initiative to continue the fair, using the same name themselves.
The Orange Food Box Company backs local, Derbyshire produce wholeheartedly and we source it whenever possible, including prime Derbyshire beef and pork for our flame grilled sausages and burgers.
