Being absolute foodies and producing premium event catering for weddings and corporate events throughout Derbyshire and the wider East Midlands, we have to remember sometimes that not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford good food. Christmas is a time when we all take stock of what we have and hopefully pay a little respect to those less fortunate than us.
Well that’s exactly what we hear from the Derbyshire Times this week which details how kindhearted pupils from Holmgate Primary School will be presenting an impressive array of festive treats to the Clay Cross Food Bank. Year six pupils came up with the idea to help children less fortunate than themselves this Christmas.
Throughout Derbyshire there are currently some 20 food banks, with the highest surge in demand being around the Clay Cross area. The Clay Cross Food Bank fed 2,557 residents last year, compared to just 944 throughout 2012. For more information on the country’s food banks, click here!
